Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is currently in Abia state in
the eastern region of Nigeria where he just received a chieftaincy title as the
'Enyioha 1' from traditional rulers.
Osinbajo was in the state in his sustained
effort to ensure peace in the restive Niger Delta region and other
oil-producing states of the country.
Laolu Akande, his media aide, revealed that Professor
Osinbajo is currently meeting with stakeholders on the communities. Osinbajo
travelled from Kaduna state where he met with Governor Nasir El-Rufai in the morning
of Friday, March 24, 2017 to Owerri, the capital of Imo state before travelling
to Abia, according to Akande. “VP Osinbajo (is) now in Abia state continuing
FG'S interactive engagements with oil-producing communities. He went through
Kaduna-Owerri to Abia “VP (is) accompanied by three ministers: Trade and
Industry, Niger Delta and Petroleum Resources (state)." The entourage was
reportedly received by the governor of Abia state, Okezie Ikpeazu. At the time
of this report, the vice president was meeting with traditional rulers.
